Kerala is home to many rare and special forms of animal, bird and marine life. The Western Ghats on its east and the Malabar Coast
on its west, adorned with the emerald backwaters and exotic spice plantations, Kerala is blessed with a riotous variety of flora and
fauna. The lush tropical evergreen rain forests still largely miraculously unspoiled in Kerala, support a rich array of land, marine and
avian wildlife.
The wildlife sanctuaries and parks of Kerala are known for their diversity and are home to some of the rare and endangered wild
animals and birds. You can easily spots herds of elephants playing on the sides of numerous lakes and rivers in the area. The king of
jungles, Tiger can also be spotted in his own natural habitat in the Periyar National Park, one of the most famous Tiger Reserves of
India. Nilgiri Tahr, a rare wild goat and an endangered animal, is one of the prime attractions for tourists visiting Kerala wildlife.
